This impact driver is a handy tool for loosening screws and bolts that are very tight. It should be hit with a hammer. The downward movement that this creates is converted into a strong lateral force in the impact driver. This force moves the screw. The screw is as it were startled loose. Due to the downward force, there is less chance of the screw or bolt “twisting”.
